Starting the Old That Counts

Happy New Year!

That's what kazillions are saying through the night tonight, sadly, half of them inebriated. From Australia to India, from Israel to South Africa, from Iceland to Hawaii, people welcome the new year, in part, to forget the old pain. And how many of them need Jesus? All of them. All of us!

With this blog I begin regular postings about NET 2011 related events and updates. My greatest hope is to use it as an information source for prayer warriors and others to pray on a regular basis. Soul winning only works if bathed, thoroughly bathed in prayer. The forces at work are too great and too real to leave in our weak hands. We need the power of God to break the spell the world has on people in and out of the church.

So, here are things to Pray4:

1. The upcoming live telecast JESUS IN YOUR CHURCH, via Hope Church Channel, Sabbath, January 8th, at 11 and 4:30 EST. The program will include two biblical messages, the first entitled: "To Fall in Love at Last"--music with Robbie Folkenberg, and testimonies by Judith Miranda, soul winner extraordinaire and Malibu church planter, and Pastor Pavel Goia, author of the recent biography "One Miracle After Another: The Pavel Goia Story." In addition, Ruthie Jacobsen will launch our NET prayer initiative, and Fred Kinsey, director/speaker of the VOP, will MC.
2. For the proper working of our website, as churches and other groups sign up for the various NET series and mini-series. this is at http://host.propheciesdecoded.com Check it out.
3. For me as I write the book on the Holy Spirit --11 chapters done, 4 more to go.

Right before Thanksgiving, I decided to go ahead and write a book I should have written several years ago but didn't for lack of time. We plan to use it in connection with NET evangelism training. The working title is Our Greatest Need: The Outpouring of God's Spirit On the Church.

Well, I don't have any more time now either, but you know how that goes. The Lord has been gracious to me over the last few weeks, in spite of interruptions. I was hoping to have it done by today, but I still have about a fourth of the way left. Could be worse. Thank you to friends and family the world over for the prayer support you have provided!

Back to 2011. Here is the chance to decide that what really matters on a new year is to continue with what mattered in the old. And if something new is to be taken up--like morning times with God--don't wait until January 1. Start it now.

May Jesus be our all in all this year . . . and always!
